Troopers say a Tahoe City woman suspected of being under the influence hit and killed a pedestrian walking along SR 28 late Friday night.
CHP says the incident happened after 11:15 p.m. west of Rocky Ridge Road.
Troopers say the driver, a woman in her 30s, was driving a 2014 Ford Explorer east on SR 28 when the SUV hit a Hispanic man walking along the right-hand shoulder.
The unidentified man died on scene.
Authorities say the driver was arrested and says alcohol and/or drugs are suspected in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
