A Truckee man will have to register as a sex offender after he was convicted of lewdness and child sex-related crimes.

Truckee Police say in 2023, 28-year-old Jesus Alonzo used a fake school district email address to contact adult women on Facetime. When they'd answer, police say the victims would see the suspect exposing himself and doing other lewd acts.

With the help of investigators from the Nevada County District Attorney's Office, police executed multiple search warrants resulting in the arrest of Alonzo.

During his arrest, police say they seized numerous electronic devices that contained Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Last month, Jesus Alonzo was successfully convicted on both felony and misdemeanor charges. He also will now have to register as a sex offender in California.
