ORIGINAL STORY - DECEMBER 22, 2025:

A man has been convicted of multiple crimes after violently attacking his ex-girlfriend in January of this year.

According to the Washoe County District Attorney's Office, 36-year-old Jonathan Delacour was found guilty of domestic battery by strangulation, domestic battery, and battery with intent to commit sexual assault.

According to prosecutors, Delacour attacked his ex-girlfriend while they were living together. During an argument, he began hitting her, then forced her to the ground and committed a sexual act.

Later that night, the two argued again, and Delacour struck her a second time. He strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness and head-butted her, leaving a large knot on her forehead and causing temporary vision problems.

During the trial, Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Ross presented photographs of the victim’s injuries, which included strangulation marks on her neck and a golf ball-sized knot on her forehead. The jury also saw a text message from Delacour apologizing for the attack several days later.

Delacour is scheduled to be sentenced before the Honorable Kathleen Drakulick on January 15, 2026. He faces up to two years to life in prison, with the possibility of parole.
