As the election approaches, both the Harris and Trump campaigns are intensively targeting swing states, utilizing rallies and providing surrogates to the press.

Josh Meny conducted an exclusive interview with Pete Buttigieg and Trump Campaign National Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt about the key issue that Americans care about most: the economy.

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris each claim that they have played a role in revitalizing American manufacturing while blaming the other for harming it.

"Companies are coming back into the U.S. right now because the Biden-Harris administration successfully brought them back. Right now in the industrial midwest there is a record level of factory investment, dramatically more than what was happening under Donald Trump," says Buttigieg.

In comparing the raw job numbers, Biden has seen an average monthly increase of 18,000 manufacturing jobs, whereas Trump experienced nearly 11,600 jobs added per month before the pandemic.

Leavitt asserts that Trump has a more effective plan for boosting manufacturing, which includes increasing domestic energy production and negotiating tougher trade deals.

"He's no longer going to allow American workers to be ripped off for their jobs to go overseas in pursuit of cheap labor," elaborated Leavitt. "And he's also going to appoint a manufacturing ambassador to travel the world and recruit foreign companies to come and do business in America and the incentive for that will be lowering the business tax rate to 15 percent."

Regarding former President Trump's recent talk about tariffs, Buttigieg replies, "They [tariffs] need to be smart. They need to be targeted. Economists agree what Donald Trump is proposing. That is just what is going to make all of us pay much more for the goods we buy every day."

Pete Buttigieg also had some words about the Silver State, saying, "Nevada is a vitally important part of this electoral process. Nevada could be the state that decides the entire presidential election."

"We're not taking any single moment for granted, that's why President Trump continues to barnstorm the country," said Leavitt.
