Desert Skies Middle School was briefly on a Code Yellow lockdown Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Washoe County School District.
In a Connect Ed phone call to parents, school principal Teresa Quintana said that a student on campus became disruptive after classes began.
In response, the school initiated the lockdown to restrict the movement of students as school police and staff dealt with the student's behavior.
The student was removed from campus and nobody was injured.
The school is working with school police as officers continue their investigation.
