The final donation drop-off event for the eighth annual 'Fill The Bus' school supply drive takes place on July 26.

This series of donation drives will benefit more than 10,000 Washoe County School District students and their families who rely on this kind of community support to prepare for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. 

Event coordinators say they are in desperate need of donations of school supplies, hygiene products, and clothing or uniforms for school-aged students grades K through 12th. 

Final donations for this drive can be made at the Sam's Club parking lot located at 4835 Kietzke Lane in South Reno on Friday, July 26 from 9 .a.m. to 2 p.m.

The eighth annual 'Fill the Bus' back-to-school drive is taking place from July 8 to July 26.

Communities in Schools Western Nevada (CIS) is collecting school supplies and other items for students in need.

All collected items will go to students in Washoe County for the 2024-2025 school year.

Some of the supplies most needed include backpacks for elementary and high school students (clear backpacks encouraged), mechanical pencils and eraser caps, color pencils and markers, pencil pouches and boxes, spiral notebooks, laundry detergent, deodorant, body lotion, body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, school planners and art supplies.

There will be a final drop off event at Sam's Club at 4835 Kietzke Lane from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 26.
