Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at the Meadowood Apartments on Tuesday.
According to the Reno Fire Department, the fire began on the stove and spread to the cabinets.
Maintenance crews at the apartment complex responded first and were able to help knock down the fire. The Reno Fire Department is now mopping up.
The family of five was able to get out the apartment uninjured.
The apartment unit is now uninhabitable, and the managers of the apartment complex are helping the family find alternative housing.
