The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District has lifted some fire restrictions for outdoor recreational and cooking fires.

Fires using charcoal briquettes and outdoor wood fires are now permissible if they are confined to outdoor fireplaces and fire pits.

Restrictions on operating small equipment powered by an internal combustion engine have also been lifted.

Certain fire restrictions are still in place, though, including open burning. This includes the use of burn barrels as well as bonfires.
