September is Hunger Action Month, and the Food Bank of Northern told us they're most excited about a new partnership with a popular social media chef.

Jocelyn Lantrip, the director of marketing for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, says, "We're very excited about our partnership this year with Kevin Ashton. He is joining us as the chief ambassador for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada for Hunger Action Month, and he is doing an event with us on the 13th to inspire other people to become ambassadors."

The food bank is also partnering with Scheels in tandem to kick off the Wolf Pack season, as Scheels is a touchdown sponsor. So every time the Wolf Pack scores a touchdown, Scheels will donate $500 to the Food Bank.

Orange is also the popular color to wear to support and bring awareness to Hunger Action Month.

Lantrip tells us, "The color was chosen by Feeding America. It's really something that happens all across the country. We have been doing Hunger Action Month for a lot of years, so we all have adopted it, and it's pretty fun that we do it at food banks everywhere."

There are a lot of ways to donate this year to the food bank, such as their virtual food drive, where every dollar donated equals three meals. They're holding their Run on Tuna again with the goal of collecting 10,000 cans. Or you can always volunteer. If you're interested in getting involved, you can click the link here.

Lantrips says, "We really want people to get involved; there are a lot of fun ways to do it. Come to the burger showdown and eat a burger and vote; that's a really fun way to get involved. Wear orange on September 9th, which is Hunger Action Day."
