Four people are dead after a fiery crash on U.S. 6 near Ely, in White Pine County late last month.Â
Nevada State Police troopers say the crash happened more specifically on U.S. 6 at mile marker 31, about 7 miles west of Ely just before 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30th.
NSP says a preliminary investigation shows a pickup truck with trailer was heading west in the eastbound lane, while an RV towing a flatbed trailer was heading west, in the westbound lane.Â
NSP says the pickup driver tried to pass a slower car in a no-passing zone when it collided with the RV in the west lane, eventually catching on fire.Â
Two people, in each car died on scene. Their names haven't yet been released to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.Â
