More industrial development is coming to Fernley region.

Mark IV Capital in partnership with Premier Design + Build Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for phase two of the Victory Logistics District.

The 4,300 acre master planned development is being built in Fernley off exit 50 at North Nevada Pacific Parkway.

Some politicians were also in attendance such as Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and Congressman Mark Amodei.

"This is exactly what I was talking about, this is exactly what I was describing in what were trying to achieve in Nevada, particularly northern Nevada," Governor Lombardo said during a speech at the ceremony.

The first phase of this district started in 2019, and now more is on the way.

"This is amazing what's going to happen out here," said Brian Paul, Co-Founder for Premier Design + Build Group. "We're going to see an explosion in this area. Bring jobs out to this market."

This development over time will bring, industrial, developmental, and data centers to the region.

The Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center off USA Parkway, for years, has led the charge for industrial development east of Reno.

This new project is hoping to help aid in the demand.

"That project has been great, but it's been pretty built out and now it's the time for the relief valve out here in Fernley for all that pent up demand," said Evan Slavik, President and CEO, Mark IV Capital. This is the next hub of industrial development in the area."

This phase will create land that can fit hyper scope tenants such as Amazon and Google.

Those companies are massive data centers that developers are hoping to recruit to facility.

This is an ever evolving project that is looking to create its own community with a fire station and housing at some point in the future.

Slavik says the entire project will take decades before it's finished.

"This next phase of master planning and infrastructure will take about two years," he said. "Meanwhile we already have about 450 acres graded to the south of us that are ready to go. So we can build any of the projects as soon as we get the right tenant and user, and each of those buildings will take about a year for each of them."

This project will also build new roads, water lines, and sewer lines.

Slavik is also hoping this helps the folks of Fernley with getting jobs closer to home.

"A good percentage of the population here in Fernley actually leaves the city to go to work and we're here to change that," he said.
