Fire crews say a brush fire that broke out in Palomino Valley last week was started by humans.

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue tells 2 News that the fire, which burned two outhouses, charred 172 acres before being fully contained last weekend. 

As of right now, TMFR can't pinpoint an exact cause other than it started by someone. 

The Reno Fire Department, Sparks Fire, Storey County, Nevada Forestry, and the Bureau of Land Management all had crews working this fire.

No injuries were reported and no homes were affected. 

Update, 6:40 p.m.:

Evacuations in the area have been lifted and residents can now return home.

Update, 4:20 p.m.:

According to TMFR, multiple agencies are on the scene assisting with the fire.

They are currently working to protect homes and outbuildings.

An air tanker is on the scene dropping fire retardant.  

Update, 4:10 p.m.:

The Reno Fire Department says in an online post that they are responding to assist TMFR and BLM with the brush fire.

RFD says they are sending two brush trucks (staffed with four firefighters) and a Battalion Chief at this time. 

Update, 3:50 p.m.:

According to TMFR, the fire is at approximately 50 acres.  

They are asking for residents to check Perimeter Map for areas in the evacuation area.

Large animals that need to be evacuated can be taken to the UNR Equestrian Center, located at 1290 Valley Rd, Reno

Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue crews are on scene of a brush fire near Virginia Peak south of Pyramid Lake.

According to TMFR, the fire is about 10 acres and is located from Ironwood Drive to Wilcox Drive in Palomino Valley.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, evacuations are in place near Ironwood Road and Pyramid Highway.
