Two people face multiple charges as part of an ongoing drug investigation, after being arrested during a traffic stop in Reno.
Washoe County deputies say detectives with the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU), with assistance from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, arrested the two people on Wednesday.
Deputies say the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of illicit drugs and resulted in the seizure of approximately 424 grams of fentanyl, 229 grams of methamphetamine, and two illegally possessed guns.
RNU detectives arrested 39-year-old Gerald Whatley and 39-year-old Briana Hayes during the investigation.
Whatley and Hayes were transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility and booked on multiple felony narcotics-related charges. Hayes was additionally charged with carrying or possessing a firearm during the commission of a drug-related offense.
