The University Police Department Northern Command, Nevada State Police and Sparks Police will be joining forces in a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding.
The campaign will happen from March 13 to March 29 and aims to increase law enforcement participation and public safety through highly visible patrols across the state of Nevada.
In a release posted to their X page, University Police say there were 491 speeding-related fatalities on Nevada roads between 2017 and 2021.
Speeding makes it easier to lose control of your car, increases the stopping distance after a driver notices danger and increases the potential severity of a crash.
