Chain controls lifted Wednesday morning.
Crashes can still occur when there is only a dusting of snow. Chain controls were in place along I-80 early Wednesday morning, but have since been lifted.

There are reports of black ice in Susanville, so make sure to be cautious. The system is moving east towards the Utah border late Wednesday morning, with clearing skies as the day goes on.
This is a fast moving system and is already out of Reno’s hair. Parts of Carson City did see some light snow early Wednesday, and the Northern Sierra did get some accumulating snow. This is not a huge boost for our snowpack but it is something. Most of our ski resorts picked up between one to three inches of snow overnight.
No snow was reported at the Reno Airport. However, a trace of snow was reported 12.3 miles south of Reno early Wednesday.

It’s been nearly three weeks since snow fell at the Central Sierra Snow Lab, located near Donner. Their snowpack is only at 58% of median and 68% of snowfall to date.
