Today, 100 children in Northern Nevada will receive brand-new beds, thanks to a generous donation from Hope to Dream in partnership with Serta Simmons Bedding.
The donation includes twin mattresses, bed frames, and bedding sets, and will be distributed by The Salvation Army between 10 a.m. and noon.
The families receiving the beds were pre-enrolled through The Salvation Army’s social services office earlier this month.
“There is unexplainable joy on the faces of children as they receive their new beds. For some, it may mean they no longer have to share with a sibling, for others, it may be their very first bed,” said Ruthie Bautista, Vice President of Hope to Dream.
According to The Salvation Army, a proper bed plays a vital role in a child’s physical health, emotional well-being, and academic success.
“A new bed may seem small compared to the daily challenges many families face, but it’s a meaningful step toward stability and dignity. We’re deeply grateful to Hope to Dream and Serta Simmons Bedding for this generous and ongoing partnership,” said Major Randy Hartt, Northern Nevada Coordinator for The Salvation Army.
Hope to Dream and The Salvation Army remain committed to supporting families in need by ensuring children have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.
