Opening Day will also spotlight community support. The Reno Aces Foundation is set to recognize the Tahoe Titans, a local baseball team whose bus was intentionally struck during a fundraiser in Truckee. The team will receive a check to help fund a trip to Cooperstown for a tournament, and players will take part in the Baseball Buddies program on the field.

The crack of the bat, the smell of ballpark food, and a crowd ready to cheer, Opening Day has arrived in downtown Reno.

The Reno Aces return to Greater Nevada Field on Friday, March 27, kicking off the season with a 2:05 p.m. first pitch and a full slate of festivities that go beyond baseball. This year’s opener is also the earliest in team history and marks a milestone moment for the franchise and the city.

Before the game begins, city leaders will take part in a pregame ceremony recognizing a new agreement that keeps the team in Reno through 2049. Vice Mayor Miguel Martinez and members of the Reno City Council are expected to attend, having unanimously approved the deal earlier this year. Martinez will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, and March 27 will be designated as “Aces Day.”

The team will receive a check to help fund a trip to Cooperstown for a tournament, and players will take part in the Baseball Buddies program on the field.

Another ceremonial first pitch will come from Brett Butler, the first and longest tenured manager in franchise history. Butler led the team from 2009 through 2013, winning 366 games and a Pacific Coast League championship in 2012. He remains the only manager in team history to have his number retired and is scheduled to sign autographs when the gates open.

During the middle of the second inning, the first “Home Run for Life” of the season will honor a Northern Nevada community member connected to organ, eye, or tissue donation. The team is partnering with Donor Network West for the recognition, with details about the honoree expected to be announced.

Opening Day traditions will continue with pregame and in-game fireworks and a flyover during the national anthem courtesy of NAS Fallon. Fans will also receive a free magnet schedule giveaway at all stadium gates.

The Aces will face the Tacoma Rainiers throughout opening weekend, with games set for 4:05 p.m. on March 28 and 1:05 p.m. on March 29. Sunday’s game includes Family Sunday promotions and Dog Day, allowing fans to bring their dogs to the ballpark, along with $1.50 hot dogs and a postgame Kids Run the Bases.

Single-game and season tickets for the 2026 season are on sale through the team’s website and ticket office.
