Get ready for an active weather day for the Sierra and Northern Nevada on Thursday.
Winter Storm Warnings take over the Sierra around Mono County, California until 4pm Friday with snow levels above 9000 feet.
Snow values for regions under Winter Storm Warnings will leave potential for 9-12 inches of snow above 9000 feet.
Winter Weather Advisories take over the Northern Sierra to include the Tahoe Basin until 7am Friday with 4-6 inches of snowfall above 8000 feet.
Wind Advisories are in effect for the Tahoe Basin Thursday with winds sustaining between 20-30mph gusting up to 40-60mph.
Winds to lower elevations in Nevada will increase in the early afternoon gusting up to 30-40mph from outflows before chances for showers after 3pm.
Shower activity will continue into Friday morning before things calm down Friday night and Saturday.
