The former Stewart Indian Boarding School in Carson City will be hosting its largest annual event this Father's Day weekend.

The annual Stewart Father's Day Powwow will take place Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15 at 12:00 noon at 5500 Snyder Avenue in Carson City.

Organizers say the event brings hundreds of dancers, drummers and artists to the historic campus of the Stewart School.

Other attractions at the powwow include booths featuring fine arts and crafts, food vendors, camping, and a series of dances from the Silver State Gourd Society.

The 2025 Powwow features Master of Ceremonies Skush Poodry of the Sac & Fox Nation. All dancers and drummers are welcome to participate.

The school's Cultural Center and Museum will be open all weekend during the powwow, and the Great Basin Native Artists Gallery will feature the work of Kimberly Avanna Lawson of the Walker River Paiute.

A gallery reception will be held for the exhibition—titled "Reflections"—on Saturday, June 14 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
