A mother and a father charged with murder in connection with the starvation death of their infant son appeared in court on Monday.

A judge set a quarter million-dollar bail each for Giovonnye Hart and Hailey Moniz. The pair also must wear GPS monitoring devices and contact with their other young children must be determined by a family court.

At Monday's hearing a Sparks detective testified about how an autopsy found their child had died of starvation and how there was no evidence they had been feeding the child for weeks.

He also testified there was no evidence of a medical condition causing the infant's death.

The child died back in April when they were just under three months old. Officers arrested the parents earlier this month following the autopsy.

Both Hart and Moniz are due back in court in October.
