Carson High School athletes and staff gathered Tuesday morning to rebuild and restore a Carson City landmark.
Members of the Carson High football and cheerleading squads, along with coaches, spent the early morning hiking nearly two miles out to the grounds where the 'C' was originally constructed in 1924.
The symbol typically undergoes an unofficial transformation around the end of each school year, when it's changed from the 'C' to the two digits of that year's graduating class.
Converting it back has never been a school-sanctioned event, but is usually an effort undertaken by a combination of school athletes, local organizations, and volunteers.
