The Carson High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), along with marketing students, have launched a new business magazine.
The new student-produced magazine, named "Entrepreneurs in Action," was officially launched last Thursday during an event held at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.
Students have been working on getting the magazine launched since January, applying their knowledge in marketing, sales, interview techniques, journalism, graphic design and business management.
The magazine is reported to focus on the achievements, challenges, and visions of local entrepreneurs.
Helping the students with the new project are Cody Downing and Angila Golik, teachers and FBLA co-advisors at Carson High; Jenny Treese, ad director for Carson Now; and Jon Rogers, a retired entrepreneur.
During the launch party, it was revealed that Carson Now was donating $36,510 to the effort - shortly after, Don Kuhl—an entrepreneur featured in the magazine—matched that donation, bringing the total amount donated to the students to $73,020.
According to the school, money raised from the magazine will help fund scholarships, leadership programs, and student-led business initiatives.
Hard copies of the magazine are available for free at businesses and community organizations around Carson City.
You can also view the magazine online at the Carson High website.
