City of Fallon - 2025 Holiday Event

The City of Fallon is gearing up for its annual Christmas Open House and tree lighting on December 5.

This year, the familiar holiday gathering will also serve as an early celebration for America's upcoming 250th anniversary

The festivities hosted by Mayor Ken Tedford, Councilwoman Kelly Frost, Councilwoman Karla Kent, and Councilman Paul Harmon will unfold at Fallon City Hall and The Douglass House before everyone heads to historic Maine Street for the tree lighting.

People stopping by the open house can expect refreshments, cookie decorating, caroling, and the season’s first visit from Santa.

City department heads and elected officials will also be on hand to meet with the community. The evening wraps with the lighting of Fallon’s Christmas tree, followed by custom red, white, and blue fireworks.

“Few things capture the magic of the holidays like gathering with our community to light Fallon’s iconic Christmas tree,” Tedford said. “This year, we’re especially excited to feature a gold, illuminated ‘250’ as the tree topper, as well as red, white, and blue fireworks, honoring America250. We invite everyone to join us for a night of joy, festive local traditions, and a celebration of Fallon’s history, community, and holiday spirit.”

Fallon on Ice, the city’s outdoor rink at 10 S.  Carson Street, will also be open for its third year.

December 5 opens the rink with a themed evening for all ages, 'Onesie Night'. Admission to the event is free for children four and under, $12 for kids five to 17, and $13 for seniors and military members, and $15 for adults 18 and older. Skaters who bring their own skates get a $3 discount.

The patriotic theme ties into the nationwide leadup to July 4, 2026, when the country marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Fallon plans to continue highlighting America250 throughout its local events now through 2026.
