The City of Reno is providing sandbags to the local community for the current storm.

- City of Reno Corporation Yard – 1640 E. Commercial Row
- Mira Loma Park – 3000 S. McCarran Blvd. (south end)
- Moya Blvd. near Red Baron Blvd.
- Reno Fire Station #5 (Mayberry) – 1500 Mayberry Dr.
- Horseman’s Park – 2800 Pioneer Dr.
- Idlewild Park – 2055 Idlewild Dr.
Reno City Officials say bags are provided, but to bring shovels.
PLUMAS COUNTY
Plumas County Officials are also providing sandbags to people.
The sandbags are to help prepare for potential flooding and stormy conditions, according to officials.
People can obtain sandbags for no cost during daytime hours at the following locations:
- City of Portola – 120 Main Street, Portola (available for City & County residents)
- Graeagle Fire Department – 7620 CA-89, Graeagle
- Peninsula Fire Department – 801 Golf Club Road, Lake Almanor
- Hamilton Branch Fire Department – 3791 Big Springs Road, Hamilton Branch
- Chester Fire / Public Utility District (CPUD) – 251 Chester Airport Road, Chester
- Quincy Fire Department – Station 1 – 501 Lawrence Street, Quincy – rear of station under cover – sand already bagged
- Indian Valley Fire Department – contact Indian Valley CSD (530) 284-7224 to request
According to officials, Sandbags are available on a first-come, first served basis until sandbags run out. Residents are also asked to bring their own shovel and be prepared to transport sandbags themselves.
Community members are urged to contact your local fire department or the Plumas County Sheriff's Office if in need of help obtaining sandbags. You're also urged to dial 911 if an emergency arises.
