The City of Sparks has announced plans to transition fire operations currently based at Fire Station 5 to the new Fire Station 6.
Fire Station 5 is located at 6490 Vista Blvd., and the new Fire Station 6 is located at 6963 Scheidbar Road.
Once construction is complete, all apparatus and personnel at Station 5 will move to Station 6, which is expected to open in late October.
“Our mission has always been to protect lives and property while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Sparks Fire Chief Walt White. “This transition allows us to maintain high-quality service coverage and ensure our resources are deployed where they are needed most. We have always been, and will continue to be, committed to delivering the highest level of fire and emergency medical services to the community.”
The City says the adjustment ensures that north Sparks will continue to benefit from a fully staffed and equipped fire service, while allowing resources to be positioned where they can most efficiently serve the community.
