Reno Police Department crash

A car fleeing a traffic stop crashed into a home south of Midtown in Reno late Monday night.

One of Reno's Police Officers attempted to pull over the car at 10:00 p.m. at Sinclair and Stewart Streets because it was driving without headlights and pulled out in front of the officer.

When the officer turned on their lights, the car drove away. The officer turned the lights off and did not pursue.

Officers searched the area shortly after and found the car had been speeding and had crashed into a home on Catherine Drive near Stewart Street. No one inside the home was hurt.

Police said the driver ran from the scene, and investigators are trying to determine if the car was stolen.

Authorities are still investigating and do not have a description of the driver.

Anyone with information about the crash or the driver is asked to call the Reno Police Department non-emergency line at (775) 334-2121.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
