Truck damaged in Winnemucca fire

Fire officials are investigating two different fires near Winnemucca Monday afternoon.

Winnemucca Rural Fire District crews say they responded to the first fire north of town in the Artemsia area around 3:45 p.m. and found several cars, a structure and nearby brush on fire.

It says the BLM sent several units to help with the wildland portion of the fire while NV Energy cut power because nearby power poles could have been potentially impacted by the fire.

Less than an hour, a second call was received, this time on Betty Lane where a truck caught on fire and when trucks were done responding to the first fire, they dealt with this second one.
