Fire crews responded to a small fire near the laundry area at the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) on Monday.

Several Reno Fire engines responded to a fire in the laundry lint system around 12 p.m. on Monday.

Fire crews initially contained the fire to a vent pipe, but then it spread to the outside of the building.

As a precaution, some employees were briefly evacuated.

No firefighters were hurt, but one GSR employee was checked for smoke inhalation and later released.

Guests at the resort were unaffected, and laundry operations have since resumed.
