Firefighters stopped forward progress on a fire burning at the base of Peavine Mountain.

According to fire crews, the fire has burned 67 acres near Red Rock Road and U.S. 395.

Evacuation warnings that were in place along North Virginia Street have been downgraded.

Fire crews say they will stay on scene throughout the night to mop up the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
