Police Lights 2 with DCSO badge

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) has released details of an alleged theft from a business in northern Douglas County.

At around 4:10 p.m. a deputy was alerted to a suspicious vehicle that was reported to be involved in a theft from Famous Footwear, off of Topsy Lane.

The vehicle was stopped by the deputy behind the shopping center, on Vista Grande Boulevard. Once stopped, the deputy says two of the car's occupants ran away on foot onto Washoe tribal land - the other three occupants stayed with the vehicle.

Deputies with DCSO worked with the Washoe Tribal Police and used drones and a K9 officer to locate one of the two people who fled. The other suspect is still outstanding.

The three suspects who remained in the car have been identified as Manual Parra-Lopez, Rosario Quinonez-Garcia, Garson Arango and Jenifer Lara-Vasquez.

The group has been linked to numerous charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary of a business, conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.

According to officials, Parra-Lopez—one of the two who fled on foot—was also charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer. Parra-Lopez and Arango are undocumented immigrants and are currently on an ICE hold.

"All of these individuals are part of an organized theft ring. They came to Douglas County for the express purpose of stealing from our businesses," said Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley.
