A free anti-trafficking safety symposium will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on March 8 at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Rd, Placerville.

The event is designed to educate people on recognizing and preventing human trafficking, providing safety strategies for families and community members. Organizers say attendees will have the chance to learn directly from experts and ask questions about safeguarding children.

People interested in attending can see the event flyer or sign up at drive4impact.org.

“The goal is to empower people with knowledge and tools to help protect children from trafficking,” according to the flyer posted online by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
