New all inclusive playground at Rancho San Rafael Park

Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Spaces announced that construction of the new all-inclusive playground at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park is complete and now open for public use.

According to the department in an online Facebook post, the community is invited to a grand opening celebration next Saturday, November 1.

The celebration will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at the park’s main playground near the Peavine Picnic Pavilion, located at 1595 North Sierra Street in Reno.

Washoe County officials said this is the county’s first “all-inclusive” playground, designed to serve children of all abilities. The project replaced the existing playground at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park to create a more accessible and inclusive space for all families to enjoy.

Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Spaces said it is proud to welcome families from across the Truckee Meadows to celebrate the completion and official grand opening of the playground.
