Around noon on Sunday, the Sparks Fire Department was sent out on a call about a leaking liquid nitrogen tank on E. Greg Street.

Units arrived on scene and found a large tank with a moderate leak coming from the base of the tank.

The area was evacuated and westbound traffic was closed temporarily on Greg Street in the area of the tank.

The firefighters, who are also hazmat technicians, were able to take care of the leak without any injuries to public or fire personnel.

The property has been turned back over to the building owner, and the department has deemed that there is no threat to the public.

Greg Street has been re-opened after traffic control was put in place by Sparks Police Department and Nevada State Police.
