Hug High School was temporarily and inadvertently locked down on Monday due to an activation of the crisis alert system.
The system was triggered when a staff member was trying to alert the administration to a fight between students.
Lockdown procedures were followed, including locking doors and ensuring students and staff were safe. Law enforcement also responded to the scene.
Once it became clear the system was inadvertently triggered the school resumed normal operations.
The Washoe County School District made the initial announcement at 1:42 p.m. on Monday.
The lockdown was lifted at 2:14 p.m., about 30 minutes later.
