A metal recycling plant fire in Winnemucca is expected to smolder for the next few days after being contained on Monday.
The fire at Robison Metal Recycling created a large plume of black smoke that could be seen across the valley in Humboldt County.
As a result, neighbors were told to shut their windows and doors as a precaution. Humboldt County Emergency Management says there is no need to evacuate as the fire is contained to the plant's debris pile.
The BLM was on standby in case the fire spread to nearby land, which it did not.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
Humboldt County Nevada Emergency Management says Winnemucca City Fire is assisting the Winnemucca Rural Fire District.
