Update (2/21/25, 4:36 p.m.):
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office has released the identity of a woman shot in an incident Tuesday night in Reno.
49-year old Cami T. Luc from Reno was the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials confirmed that the manner of death was homicide - the cause of death being a gunshot wound.
The Reno Police Department is heading up the investigation on this case.
Original Story (2/19/25, 12:15 p.m.):
A man faces a murder charge in connection with a shooting that left a woman dead Tuesday night in south Reno.
Police say they were called to South Meadows Parkway near Double Diamond just after 5 p.m. where they eventually found a 49-year-old woman dead inside a condo.
Police say they negotiated with the suspect, 50-year-old Jarrod Farrar to come out of the condo, where he was detained and then booked into jail.
During an investigation, police say they learned that Farrar was dating the victim, whose name hasn't yet been released.Â
Farrar was arrested for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Washoe County Jail.
Detectives believe that this is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
The shooting remains under investigation.
