An investigation is underway after police shot and killed a suspect in Susanville early Wednesday morning.
Police tell us they responded to Richmond Road a little after midnight and shot a suspect.
Law enforcement say they attempted to save the unidentified person, but they died at the scene.
The officers involved are now on critical incident leave.
The department has not said what led up to the shooting.
Richmond Road from Riverside Drive to Cypress Street remains closed for the investigation.
