Update June 11
Nevada State Police troopers were investigating a crash on northbound U.S. 95 near Las Vegas Boulevard Wednesday when an unrelated vehicle approached the scene and struck a tractor trailer.Â
Troopers attempted to stop the driver, but the driver refused and struck a trooper and a nearby car.
During that incident, a trooper fired his weapon.
The suspect drove away from the scene and the vehicle was later found at a nearby hospital. The driver was taken into custody.
A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died.Â
The trooper involved did not sustain serious injuries.
Las Vegas Metro Police are conducting the officer-involved shooting investigation.Â
