Update June 11

Nevada State Police troopers were investigating a crash on northbound U.S. 95 near Las Vegas Boulevard Wednesday when an unrelated vehicle approached the scene and struck a tractor trailer. 

Troopers attempted to stop the driver, but the driver refused and struck a trooper and a nearby car.

During that incident, a trooper fired his weapon.

The suspect drove away from the scene and the vehicle was later found at a nearby hospital. The driver was taken into custody.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died. 

The trooper involved did not sustain serious injuries.

Las Vegas Metro Police are conducting the officer-involved shooting investigation.

Nevada State Police are on scene of a shooting near U.S. 95 and Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas. 

According to Nevada State Police, the troopers involved did not sustain serious injuries. 

In accordance with established protocol, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is conducting the officer-involved shooting investigation.
