A collaboration between local law enforcement authorities, a 'Joining Forces' speed enforcement event took place on Friday, September 20.
The events are made possible by a Joining Forces grant provided by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.
Reno Police Department teamed up with the Sparks Police Department, Washoe County School District Police Department, University Police Department - Northern Command and the Nevada State Police.
Officers from the various squads made around 200 stops, issuing 185 tickets for violations like speeding, registrations, insurance and not wearing a seatbelt.
Nevada state law requires that drivers follow the speed limit, or drive a speed safe for the current road conditions.
