The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM) has teamed up with The Reno Police Department and the Community Services Agency Reno to host the 5th annual 'National Night Out' Tuesday.

BGCTM says that National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood relationships to make the community neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

They say it enhances relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community, bringing police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Organizers say the event is typically held in August Nationwide, but they chose to avoid any conflict with Hot August Nights, picking the new date that coincided with Washoe County Schools going on fall break later in the week as the perfect time to bring neighborhoods together.

The FREE community event, begins at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, October 1, and goes until 7 p.m., at Miguel Ribera Park at 3295 Neil Road in Reno, there will be a BBQ, live music, games, activity booths, a bounce house, and vendors.
