The first day of March Madness is on Thursday and the area sports books are gearing up for a lot of betting and brackets.
We went to the Eldorado and Silver Legacy sports books to see how they're preparing for the college basketball tournament and what sports fans can expect.
“We’re really excited," said Tony Marini, the Vice President of Caesar’s Entertainment Northern Nevada. "We’ve added sports book kiosks all over the property so people don’t have to wait in line anymore. They can go up to the kiosks that are all over the property and make their bets, no lines, easy access. It’s the best way to bet and we’ve made it accessible to everyone on the property.”
He adds “We’re excited about our bookings, and we’re excited about the weekends. The weather is great, people can get up here, so we’re really excited about March Mania. The packages we’ve put together for everybody.”
They also mention there are a lot of options for food if you get hungry while watching the games. They also have passes for drinks for the weekend.
Overall, they say they're ready for the big games.
Marini says “We’ve seen a lot of traffic in our sports books already and through our kiosks, so we’re looking forward to having a huge weekend. First tip off tomorrow morning a little after nine so we’re really excited. People are starting to show up now and we’re looking forward to a huge weekend in downtown.”
