The Nevada Health Authority has been awarded federal funding for the first year of the new federal Rural Health Transformation Program.
The funds amount to nearly $180 million and come from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, according to a release from the office of Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo.
It is part of a five-year, $50 billion initiative as authorized by Congress earlier this year in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
All 50 states were invited to submit applications to the federal government to receive these new federal funds.
For each year of the program, states must reapply for additional funds. The five-year grant period begins December 29, 2025, and runs through October 30, 2030.
Nevada’s application for the funding can be found here.
