Happy New Year!
Caesars Entertainment hosted celebrations at bars and lounges across the Silver Legacy, Eldorado, and Circus Circus on Wednesday night to ring in the new year.
President Tony Marini says they've been preparing all year.
"Whether it's the dinner or whether it's the nightlife, whether it's the fireworks, we go all year long," Marini said. "Tonight, we get to cultivate it all and put it all together."
For some folks celebrating in downtown Reno, 2025 was filled with tough battles.
"Through a lot of support that has come into my family and friends, I overcame cancer," said Leihoky Tangaro.
For others, it's been a year of lifting everyone up.
Stacey said the highlight of the year was "elevating our children or families or finances and working hard and showing up for the ones we care about."
Other folks had some negativity they wanted to leave in the passing year.
"What we need to leave behind is the sadness," said Julie Rainwater. "We need to focus on the happiness in 2026."
When asked what she wanted to leave in 2025, Natalie said, "My divorce!"
Caesars's celebrations focus on the bars and lounges, but some folks have found other ways to cap off 2025.
"I'm going to go to the arcade, and a lot of my family's going to the casino," said Caio Freites. "And we're probably going out tonight."
Plenty of folks we talked to have high hopes for 2026.
John Rainwater said his goal is to "just concentrate on family and friends."Â
"And health and happiness," Julie Rainwater added.
"Be the best version of ourselves," Stacey said, speaking of herself and her friend Kim.
"I just want to spend more time with family and friends. That's my goal for 2026," said Kim.
