Novva Data Centers has launched a new facility in Storey County, within the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center.
The 20-acre site, called Novva Tahoe Reno, is the company's fourth completed location and will provide up to 60 megawatts of power.
The area is home to several other major technology firms and sits along the Interstate 80 corridor just outside Reno.
The data center includes six 10MW data halls, each with approximately 30,000 square feet of open space.
A 100MW on-site substation will supply power from NV Energy.
According to the company, the site uses a proprietary power system that includes distributed redundant power delivery, diesel generators with silicon-controlled rectifiers, and lithium-ion battery backups.
Novva acquired the property in 2022. Existing facilities are located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, West Jordan, Utah and North Las Vegas. Four additional data centers, in San Francisco, Mesa, Arizona, a second North Las Vegas campus and a second Utah location, are in development and expected to be completed over the next few years.
Sustainability features at the Storey County site include water-free cooling systems, direct-to-chip cooling, LED lighting with motion sensors, drought-resistant landscaping and locally sourced construction materials.
The facility plans to practice radiant cooling and heating in its offices and is also expected to pursue local renewable energy credits.
Additional features include robotic monitoring, 24/7 perimeter surveillance, and several tenant amenities such as office space, storage, breakrooms, meeting rooms, shower facilities, and recreational areas.
The company says the site offers low-latency connections to the San Francisco Bay Area with a six-millisecond round trip.
The facility’s remaining capacity is expected to become available in 2026.
