An early morning single-car crash claimed the life of one man on December 8, according to the Nevada State Police.

At around 3:30 a.m. on the morning of December 8, NSP was called to a crash at Interstate 80 at Mustang - mile marker 25.

An investigation has determined that a 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was driving in the wrong direction - eastbound on the westbound side of I-80 - east of the Mustang exit.

The driver of the Ram then overcorrected, which caused the Ram to roll over multiple times.

The driver, 53-year old Jackie Leon Weatheread Jr. from Fernley, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Region 2 Traffic Homicide Unit is currently investigating the crash.
