A phone outage in the Mason Valley area is causing an issue with non-emergency phone calls to the Lyon County Communication Center.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office confirmed the outage with Frontier, their emergency phone carrier in Yerington, according to a post from the LCSO on Facebook.

Frontier is actively working to correct the problem and expects resolution within a couple of hours, according to the post.

Emergency 911 lines are not affected by the outage.

The LCSO provided two alternative lines for non-emergency calls. While they are intermittent, they are working more reliably.

Those numbers are (775) 463-6623 and (775) 463-6624.
