A morning ride is turning into a community gathering in Reno, where people can fuel up with pancakes before heading into the day on two wheels.
Reno Bike Project will host a free pancake feed on Friday, May 29 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 216 E Grove St in Reno as part of Bike to Work Day.
People are invited to ride over using bikes, scooters, skateboards or other micromobility options.
The event is designed to celebrate human-powered transportation while bringing the community together. Organizers say it is a chance to connect with fellow riders and start the morning in a sustainable way, whether people are commuting to work, heading to school or just out for a ride.
No car is needed, and organizers say that is the point. A raffle will be held for a free wheelie bike, and no purchase is necessary to enter.
Organizers say there will also be what organizers describe as a secret sale featuring rare, ill and odd parts, all priced to sell, and they jokingly advised: “Don't tell your friends.”
