The Reno Fire Department's WET Team was able to successfully pull a person from the Truckee River earlier today.
According to RFD officials, the person entered the river near Ferrari Farms on Mill Street at around 12:15 p.m., and was unable to get out.
They think the person may have jumped into the river to avoid a confrontation with law enforcement. Reno Police says that the person was part of a group who appeared to be trespassing.
Bystanders reported seeing one person going into the river to attempt to help the person who initially went in.
The WET team was immediately deployed and they were able to pull the person out of the river about 200 yards from where they originally entered.
The person was checked out on scene by medical personnel for minor injuries, and was transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.
