A sedan driver suffered injuries after an early morning collision with an empty school bus in Fernley Monday.
North Lyon Fire say they removed the driver from the Chevrolet, around 6:30 a.m. after the collision on U.S. 95A at Cottonwood Lane.
The unidentified sedan driver was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
Nevada State Police tell 2 News Nevada that the sedan driver failed to yield right of way to the school bus at a stop sign and smashed into it.
Fire crews say no students were aboard the bus, and the bus driver was not hurt.
"This incident serves as an important reminder for motorists to remain alert, slow down, and use extra caution during the early morning hours when traffic volumes increase with commuters and school transportation operations," North Lyon Fire says on Facebook.
