The Storey County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) has released details about an arrest made Friday on B Street in Virginia City.
At around 6:30 p.m. on April 4, a SCSO deputy made a routine traffic stop of a car driving down B Street.
The driver, 75-year old John Edwards of Reno, said he worked at a business in Virginia City.
When the deputy made a records check, it was revealed that Edwards was allegedly an out of compliance Tier III sex offender.
Edwards was taken into custody and charged with violating his sex offender registration—a felony—and also improperly displaying license plates.
Edwards has been booked into the Storey County Detention Facility.
